The Beginning of my Network and Affiliate Marketing Career…….

Kim(my business associate) and I started researching internet businesses about 2 weeks ago by simply using the search engine and typing in keywords. we used some of these keywords; make money online, home business, work from home, internet marketing, affiliates, etc. A couple ideas that we became excited about were creating a city information website and we also became interested in affiliate and network marketing after reading an in-depth affiliate marketing eBook. We started buying books and magazines relating to internet marketing in any way just to gain as much knowledge as possible about running a business from home. I became excited about Shaklee as far as Affiliate Marketing, which is a company that focuses on health products. Kim came across the idea of City America, a company that focuses on creating a city information website, and we decided as of today to make City America will be our primary focus. We are gathering information, facts and questions about how to start this business and how much money, time, and energy will be involved. We are both excited about the possibilities. We both know that most internet businesses are perceived as scams. We also know that there is money to be made an we are proceeding cautiously. Other then writing this entry right now and Kim playing in a cribbage league (WEIRDO!!), our only focus is going to be City America as far as internet marketing is concerned. We have also explored PLR, (Private Label Rights) to some extent and that could be useful in our adventure into starting our City America Business. All in all, we are certain that no matter what type of business on the internet you have, they can all, in some way, be tied together. WOOHOO….Monday Night Football tonight!!!! We also are looking into local taxes, regulations, requirements…etc. We are in the process of figuring out new or additional equipment and supplies we may need and assuming that will be an ongoing process. We have read two fairly in-depth EBooks that have given us plenty of information and will continue to read anything that comes our way relating to internet marketing. We are exploring mission statements, themes, logos, company names, and email names as well. We have invested less than $100 so far, mostly we have just invested our time. I’m just estimating that we have spent around 2 hours a day on average in this new business venture. I am writing aka blogging right now and that is something that I have looked into and what blogging is all about. I have discovered blogging can be much more than a daily journal entry of what you did for the day(s). There is plenty of other material you can present in a blog such as articles, news, pictures, family stories, and much much more! Today we have taken the first major step into starting a new website and will blog about this as we have more information. Ultimately, we are trying to find our niche and I am hoping we can put our own little twist into the network marketing world in some way shape or form. We have discussed several ideas, from eBay, to affiliates, to our own products or services, drop shipping, inventory, original content and many other ideas and many more to come. We have discussed topics as far as health and fitness, travel, pets, sex, scrapbooking, advertising, tech writing, city info and sports to name a few. We have also discussed people that could potentially help us as far as advice from advertising to writing material to editing to their own experiences. We have discussed this with many family members and friends as well as co-workers. I personally had someone sarcastically say “Good Luck!” to me….so I’m hoping to prove them wrong. A lot of people have their skepticism and many are supportive. I would say at this point I feel very anxious, excited, nervous and skeptical, but I do believe with determination and perseverance that we will succeed—-ONE main reason I am writing this blog is so I can keep myself motivated and my cribbage playing weirdo motivated as well. I have to go research now and will be back soon to continue my experience into this home based business world.
